Proposed Mixed-Use Soccer Stadium Development in Winter Garden

by Aponte Group

A professional soccer stadium could soon be coming to Winter Garden as part of a newly proposed mixed-use development. Orlando-based Federal Finance, in partnership with Federal Sports Alliance, has submitted plans for a 70-acre site located at 1500 and 1700 E. Plant St., near the State Road 429 interchange.

The Winter Garden City Commission will review an initial letter of intent on March 27. If approved, this agreement could set the stage for negotiations between the city, the developer, and the property owners, potentially leading to a project that includes commercial spaces, residential housing, and public sports facilities.

Development Plans and Features

The proposed project aims to bring economic growth and new amenities to Winter Garden. Planned features include:

  • Professional soccer stadium
  • Retail and commercial spaces
  • Hotel and mixed-use buildings
  • Multi-family housing and townhomes
  • Sports fields, courts, and parks

City officials have indicated that while past proposals have emerged for this land, none have included significant public benefits for Winter Garden residents.

Next Steps

If the letter of intent is approved, further discussions will address zoning, city incentives, and infrastructure planning. City Manager Jon C. Williams confirmed that additional agreements will require further approval from the commission.

Details such as the stadium’s seating capacity and league affiliation have yet to be determined. However, if this project moves forward, it could become a major addition to Winter Garden’s sports and entertainment landscape.
