New Epic Universe Florida Resident Tickets and Vacation Packages Now Available
Universal Orlando Resort has exciting news for Florida residents with the launch of new Epic Universe tickets and vacation packages. This second phase includes multiple 3-day ticket options for residents, two vacation packages, and a 1-day add-on military ticket, expanding upon the initial multi-day ticket offerings. Epic Universe, set to open on May 22nd, 2025, will feature five immersive lands, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, and more. Residents can create custom vacation packages with hotel options, park-to-park admission, and unique perks like dining experiences and exclusive photo sessions. Packages are available for purchase through December 10 for vacations between May 22nd and December 31st.
Immerse 2025 Unveils Installations & Merita Bread Sign
Immerse 2025 has revealed its lineup of art, performances, and interactive exhibits in Downtown Orlando. The festival, which took place February 21st-23rd, featured large-scale installations like a glowing unicorn slide, LED-lit sculptures, and the return of the restored Merita Bread sign, displayed for 60 days at 30 S. Orange Ave. Attendees enjoyed performances from Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, and Broadway’s Michael James Scott. The event was free, with VIP ticket options for exclusive experiences.
Orlando Airport Plans Vertiport for Future Flying Taxis
Orlando International Airport (MCO) is moving forward with plans to build a vertiport for future electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The project, aimed at advancing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), will integrate flying taxis into airport operations. Potential sites include the East Airfield region and an area near the Train Station. With flight searches for March through May surging, travelers can save up to 25% on airfare by booking three to four weeks in advance, with the best deals in late April and early May. Spring is also prime time for Wave Season cruise deals, offering perks like $1,000 onboard credits through February. As the U.S. dollar remains strong, international travel to places like Tokyo and Mexico City is trending, but when it comes to top spring destinations, Orlando takes the crown once again.
Orlando's Pulse Nightclub Memorial Set to Break Ground in 2025
After years of setbacks, Orlando is moving forward with a permanent memorial for the 49 lives lost in the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting, with construction set to begin on June 12th, 2025, and completion expected by late 2027. The city took over the project after the dissolution of OnePulse Foundation, which faced criticism for financial mismanagement and delays. The new design, shaped by survivors and victims' families, will include a reflection pool, a rainbow-lit plaza, and a tribute wall inscribed with “For all those who just wanted to dance.” With a $7.5 million budget, Orlando is securing additional funding and land to ensure the memorial is accessible and free to the public, honoring the tragedy with dignity and respect.
