by Aponte Group

A bold new chapter in retail is unfolding in Orlando. Lake Nona West—an innovative, open-air shopping and lifestyle center—is raising the bar with over 300,000 square feet already secured by top-tier retailers and restaurants. Anchored by Target, the development is quickly becoming one of Central Florida’s most anticipated destinations for shopping, dining, and community experiences.

Big Names, Big Momentum

Joining Target are powerhouse names like Nordstrom Rack, Barnes & Noble, Total Wine & More, and Homesense, alongside first-to-market dining like Cañonita, a vibrant Mexican concept straight from Las Vegas’ famed Venetian Resort. These exciting additions mark a major milestone in Lake Nona West’s leasing success—one that already totals over 300,000 square feet.

But this isn’t just about shopping. Lake Nona West will feature boutique storefronts, fitness studios, personal services, and chef-driven restaurants—all woven into a walkable, art-filled environment designed to invite both locals and visitors to linger, explore, and connect.

Thoughtful Design Meets Community Impact

Located on 54 acres along Lake Nona Boulevard near Boggy Creek Road, Lake Nona West is much more than a shopping center—it’s a destination. The design embraces Lake Nona’s signature approach to placemaking, with shaded walkways, lush greenspaces, and vibrant public plazas. Interactive art installations, bold murals, and pocket parks create an immersive experience ideal for outdoor events, social gatherings, and everyday enjoyment.

According to Skipper Peek, Senior VP of Commercial Development at Tavistock, “The strength of our tenant lineup reflects Lake Nona’s regional appeal and Tavistock’s commitment to building dynamic, community-focused spaces. We’re just getting started.

Culinary First: Cañonita Comes to Lake Nona

Kicking off Lake Nona West’s culinary lineup is Cañonita, the celebrated restaurant known for its modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine. As a longtime favorite in Las Vegas, Cañonita’s debut in Central Florida brings award-winning flavors and energetic ambiance to the heart of Lake Nona. The restaurant will be part of the Tavistock Restaurant Collection, showcasing the developer’s focus on offering exclusive, first-to-market dining concepts.

Innovation Fuels Convenience

Staying true to Lake Nona’s tech-forward roots, the project will also include 20 Level 3 EV chargers thanks to a partnership with Mercedes-Benz High-Power Charging. These ultra-fast chargers, which can add hundreds of miles of range in as little as 20 minutes, are open to all EV drivers. It's a powerful step forward in Lake Nona’s growing EV infrastructure—one designed to make sustainable transportation accessible and convenient.

Lake Nona’s design-first, innovation-forward approach makes it a natural fit for our charging network,” shared Sharon Baker, Vice President of Site Acquisition at Mercedes-Benz HPC. “This is exactly the kind of location EV drivers are looking for.

Recognized and Ready

Even before its grand opening in Spring 2026, Lake Nona West is already earning accolades. The project was recently named Retail Deal of the Year by NAIOP Central Florida, and the Target lease was recognized by CoStar as the national Retail Deal of the Spring.

As one of the most exciting developments in Central Florida, Lake Nona West is set to deliver a next-generation shopping and entertainment experience that mirrors the vision and vibrancy of the Lake Nona community.
