Puerto Rico’s La Fiesta de la Calle San Sebastián, or La Sanse, began in 1954 as a fundraiser to repair the streets of Viejo San Juan. What started as a local initiative blossomed into one of the island’s most cherished cultural events. The festival transforms the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan into a lively carnival filled with music, dancing, and iconic "cabezudos"—larger-than-life puppets representing historical figures and beloved personalities.
